Chief Master Sergeant Timothy Cooley

Chief Master Sergeant Timothy Cooley was born at Blytheville Air Force Base (AFB), Arkansas on 16 August 1964. Before graduating from Randolph High School, Randolph (AFB) in Universal City, TX, in 1982 he lived in AR, Hawaii, Nebraska and Louisiana.

Chief Cooley entered the Air Force in 1982 on his 18th birthday. After graduating basic training he completed Inventory Management Technical Training at Lowry AFB in Denver CO. After graduating he was assigned to the 2d Supply Squadron at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana where he worked in the Document Control Section. In 1984 he was assigned to Detachment 12, 2140th Communications Squadron at Mount Hortiatis, Greece where he served as the detachment’s Materiel Control Technician. He returned to Barksdale in 1985 and departed for Incirlik Air Base (AB), Turkey in 1986. While at Incirlik he worked in the Research Section in Base Supply before being selected to serve as the Base Resource Advisor.

In 1988 Chief Cooley was assigned to the 6916th Electronic Security Squadron at Hellenikon AB, Greece. He held many logistic positions while at the 6916th supporting the RC-135 aircraft. In 1990 Chief Cooley was assigned as the Materiel Control Chief for the 6931st Electronic Security Squadron at Iraklion AS, Crete. In 1991 Chief Cooley was assigned to the 6th Missile Warning Squadron at Cape Cod AFS, MA where he worked as the Senior Quality Assurance Evaluator for Supply and Transportation.

In 1994 he was assigned to the 426th Air Base Squadron in Stavanger, Norway where he served as the Logistics Superintendent and First Sergeant. Chief Cooley was reassigned to Headquarters, Ramstein AB, Germany in 1996 where he led the Regionalization of supply operations in Europe. In 1999 Chief Cooley was selected to be the Chief of Supply for the Joint Communications Support Element at Macdill AFB, FL. He returned to Germany in 2001 to be the Chief of Materiel Management for the USAFE Regional Supply Squadron at Sembach, Germany.

Chief Cooley left Germany in 2003 to become the Mission Support Group Superintendent at Keesler AFB, MI. Then in 2006 he was reassigned to Barksdale AFB as the Operations Group Superintendent and then he was selected to be the 2d Bomb Wing Command Chief. In 2009 Chief Cooley was reassigned to the same position at Whiteman AFB, MO until his retirement in 2012.

Chief Cooley has won awards at the squadron, wing, group and MAJCOM levels. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with six oak leafs, the Air Force Commendations Medal with three oak leafs and the Air Force Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters.
